Client’s Problem Statement
The client has a gateway for which smart plugs are paired and data intelligence solutions to detect water leaks, fridge freezer alerting, TV alerting, and more. With such a strong ecosystem of intelligent devices, the client was looking for a QA consultant and a partner to conduct test automation assessments, evaluate existing automation frameworks, and provide ongoing test automation services for their APIs and IoT applications.
Solutions Offered:
Tx deployed onsite automation teams and had offshore teams to perform the test automation assessment. Tx helped them by:
- Offering service Virtualization which helped them in removing the dependency on physical devices
- Setting up an ideal environment that covered most of the technology and used the same APIs to test the system.
- Adding extra validation steps for the gateway, which takes SSH commands. This way, all the requests/instructions that were being sent to the gateway were noted
- Validating response at the different levels (API response, SSH response, and the DB status, wherever necessary)
Results Achieved
- 100% automation achieved for smoke & regression test suites
- Shortened the time to market by more than 50%
- Increased profitability in terms of speed
- Intensified customer experience
- Improved the ROI significantly
